My subject matter is Nostalgic Historic NJ and NY I bring back memories of the good old days. Traditional Painting of Old Railroad Stations, Towns, Boardwalks, and Amusement Parks. In my painting, I Capture’ life as It was in the early 20th century. My Seascapes, Sailing Ships glide across the oceans, I use traditional materials watercolors on paper, and oils on canvas. My brush strokes move gently across the paper or canvas. Everything is captured in the spontaneous strokes and movement of the brush.
While much of my work is traditional and objective, I’ll occasionally give my paintings an unexpected twist or paint something from a different point of view.
For inspiration I’ll sometimes buy a frame and keep it in view until I’m inspired with exactly the right image to fill that space; my own kind of artistic ‘reverse engineering.’
I have a degree in Art education.
There are so many places to inspire any artist, it certainly inspires me.
My interest in art began the day my mother put a pencil in my hand. I come from a family of artists and so it has always been a big part of my life. I have always incorporated art in my life, painting, and drawing and now meeting other artists and learning from all of them. Watercolor has always captured my interest.
My focus is to create realistic work using watercolor and pencils.
Born in Puerto Rico in 1933, achieved his first dream- becoming an engineer. Without any formal training, Frank has completed a repertoire of impressive abstract and conceptual paintings. His work is dominated by geometric abstractions using bold colors. His art works include, graphics, cartoons and posters. His work has been described by many as "joyful"representing his gusto for the beauty of life and all that it has to offer despite one's age.
Miriam Untoria was born in Havana, Cuba. Although there was poverty and constant uncertainty about leaving the country, her memories are full of love, family, nature, and creative play. Her already strong surrealistic paintings obtained stronger images. More decorative patterns were incorporated, as the frame became part of the paintings. Many acrylic paintings, mixed media and ceramic sculptures have followed. She also joined such respectable art organizations as NAWA, SALUTE TO WOMEN IN THE ARTS, HOB’ART, STUDIO MONTCLAIR, and THE HACKENSACK ART CLUB.
Lissanne Lake has been a full-time freelance illustrator for over thirty-five years. She earned her bachelor of arts in illustration at Jersey City State College in 1978 and then went to work in advertising in New York for a number of years before turning to illustration and fine arts.

Ecuadorian by birth, economist, and master in local development by profession but deeply passionate about the artistic world, especially painting and drawing from an early age, the styles that attract me the most are surrealism and realism, using oil paint as the main technique the use of layers combining the intensification of colors.
My paintings mostly show scenes of everyday life, animals, dreams that appear in my mind, and simply the imagination captured in the instant of inspiration...
Tasteful colors that blend well together, capturing the essence of a subject, is an exciting journey in the making of an attractive painting. My goal is to create something I am proud of whether in watercolor or pastel. I can be reached by email

Myrna Richards is a realistic and abstract, self-taught artist in Maywood New Jersey. Her interest in art began as a child with a love of wildlife and nature and they became the subjects of her art. Myrna's subjects come from childhood memories, daily life, and the affection she has for the natural world. In her realistic work, conveying the essence and vibration of the subject is her aim. In her abstract work, Myrna explores different techniques along with rich colors allowing the subjects to arise from each piece. I never stopped learning about art or going to a gallery and museums. At 50 years old I had more time to focus on art. Growing up in New York City you are surrounded by amazing art and architecture. Joining the Hackensack Art Club has been a great experience getting to meet local artists who call New Jersey home. Artists that influence me are Elisabeth Murray, Ellsworth Kelly, Kenny Scharf, Sophie Taeuber-Arp, and my neighbor in Hackensack, Joe Lamattina. I graduated from Molloy College, Rockville Centre, Long Island with a degree in Fine Arts and Communications.
Monica is the President of the Hackensack Art Club. She specializes in painting "Trees of Love". Many people have called me “The Tree Lady.” I paint surrealistic trees that take on human form. Are they trees or are they people? They are both. Often, I add meaningful words as part of the scene. My paintings show a festival of trees in which human feelings are reflected through their branches that become arms that touch and caress each other. The imagination and the philosophy of love are reflected in the faces and bodies, creating a fantasy space, a spiritual dance of love between soul mates. Also, the natural wood frames made of tree bark incorporate a real element of nature and become an extension of the painting. My artwork depicts reflections about life and the preservation of nature.

I've been an artist for twenty years.
Just I love being and artist
I fell in love with chalk pastels and acrylic.. artwork, I took a picture as I started work a vision popped into my head as to how it started. some customer says it feels peaceful journey...like they're with me, to remind you to overcome everyday life.
During the last two years, I have gone full emergence practicing
drawing and watercolor painting. It has been a soul-fulfilling
and life-giving journey. Before this, I had a long career as a video
recording editor at a major commercial television network in
New York City for more than forty years. I’ve found that my
transfiguration from pixels to paint has been a beautiful
experience.
Coming from a multicultural background, I find art a language that is spoken universally. There is something so special in the way expressions are translated from the souls to each piece. My art, when it is abstract, is usually an emotional reflection.
While my medium of choice has always been acrylics and oils, I have rediscovered watercolors. To my delight, it has inspired some very interesting pieces. I enjoy painting people, abstract, and more recently, modern Islamic calligraphy.

I have been interested in photography since high school. It has driven me through my career as a creative art director in my 30+ year career. Working with various photographers has always kept me inspired. My passion is landscape photography and capturing moments in time, whether traveling or everyday experiences. I have recently explored the use of infrared photography. This technique produces a new interpretation of color to standard landscapes. I consider myself an amateur photographer always striving to improve my images.

Each new day streams various ideas and inspirations for me. Each new painting I create is an extension of my past paintings, how I started, what I’ve learned in every process, where I am heading in the future, and who I will become. I view painting or being creative as a calling.
I also use painting as a form of meditation and therapy. I paint what I see, and how I feel. Lastly, I want the connection my paintings bring to others, to help them understand our true universal yearning. And that is, to always feel alive, and not merely exist.
In the past, I worked as a machinist, model maker, and architectural metal worker and have always been a passionate gardener. The final drawings isolate individual details which culminate to reveal the whole.
It seems so much simpler to say that the drawing is the starting point from which I engage the world, or this is the way I digest
